From Pointui
Difficulty level: Easy / Duration: 60 minutes
Welcome to this very first Pointui Home tutorial!
At Pointui, the guys from the Research & Developement Department call them Pointuitorial and this one is logically code-named Pointuitorial #1.
In fact, all of us have been beginners for something one day, and we will always be beginners for something else another day. Life Lesson. Have no shame to say: I'm a n.uibie to Pointui...
Don't be afraid, you just have to shout this: I want to learn Pointui to build my Home!
If you are here reading this, you are probably new to it. But I ensure you that your status will change very quickly! And of course, everybody can read it, it's free!
So, Let's go!
What I am going to do with this?
- Create my first applet by writing my first lines of Pointui C code.
- Become familiar with the development environment and tools.
- Enter in the dev comm.uinity!
What do I need to do this?
- Hardware:
- My device
- My USB synchronisation cable
- My PC, because it's easier to type text with a real keyboard
- Optional:
- My good and comfortable chair because I like working in good condition
- A cup of water, coffee, beer or wine and if necessary a full bottle of it
- Software:
- On my device: Pointui Home 2 installed and running, because I will write an applet to feed it.
- On my PC: a good text editor like the simple old good notepad. It will be sufficient. See also this section to find some nice and more elaborated others text editors.
- Physically:
- My eyes to read this
- My hands to code it
- My head with my brain to memorize it
- Intellectually:
- My reading comprehension, nothing else!
So...
